Something someone said on Mastodon this morning reminded me of my first morning in Portugal out by myself at sunrise exploring the old quarter of the village of Castelo de Vide. Birds began singing. My brother had just died and everything seemed so beautiful that I had tears in my eyes. I think it’s what inspires me to put pots of plants on the front steps.
